Walk to Storehouse Roastery, Olinda

why is photography a good hobby?

Walk to Storehouse Roastery with us.

In July, with the threat of rain and braving the Melbourne winter temperatures in these hills, a small but enthusiastic bunch of photographers wandered from Loop, Olinda down to see our friends at Storehouse Roastery.

Photographers from beginners to seasoned professionals joined us on the photo adventure and we each shared laughs along the way.

The photo walk this month wasn’t terribly long, only a couple of kilometres and despite a couple of short hills to ascend, it was all easy work for everyone in attendance.

We wandered down along Monash Ave and past St Matthew’s Anglican Church which proved to be a popular spot for photos.

Then of course there’s the coffee. StoreHouse do a wonderful job at not only making coffee, but also creating a welcoming, aroma-filled space that’s a delightful addition when visiting the Dandenong Ranges.

We slowly returned to the Loop Art & Photo Space store, spoke more about life and cameras then browsed the film shelves and discussed photo books & zines.

It’s confirmed; we need more of these relaxed, no-pressure photo walks. No expectation, just good times with cameras and people. It’s delightful.

So, see you at the next one?
